Morning Beverage Too — Ambrosia Activation

MB2 · The cup of love

The second morning beverage — the famous “cup of love.” A blended coffee ambrosia built on six core ingredients, with a deep bench of optional spices, adaptogens, and herbal allies. An ingredient may be included purely for its health-enhancing property, even if it adds nothing to the savor.

Ingredient list current as of July 2, 2026. Ed’s lists evolve; this is a snapshot of his at-home, in-his-own-pantry version.

Core ingredients

Ingredient Notes
Water Hot, for brewing
Coffee Organic; recently roasted, ground just before use
Butter Quality of processing matters — grass-fed, cultured if possible
Cacao Organic
Honey Raw, local if possible
Cream Quality of processing matters — minimally pasteurized if possible

Optional extras — in loose order of importance (Ed’s opinion)

  1. Cinnamon
  2. Cardamom
  3. Coriander
  4. Cloves
  5. Matcha
  6. MCT oil
  7. Ashwagandha
  8. Moringa
  9. Triphala
  10. Baobab
  11. Yerba mate
  12. Pine needles
  13. Stinging nettle
  14. Teccino mix — carob, barley, chicory root, dates, figs, almonds
  15. Mushroom powder — take your pick … chaga, lion’s mane, etc.
  16. Almond butter
  17. Tahini
  18. Vanilla extract

Method

  1. Brew the coffee fresh — ideally beans roasted recently and ground just before use, so all the nutrients are available.
  2. Combine hot coffee with butter, cacao, honey, and cream in a blender.
  3. Add optional extras to taste and intention.
  4. Blend until frothy. Serve with love.

Quality principles

One of the principal principles of MB is quality of ingredients:

  • Organic is the biggie.
  • Coffee processing comes next — recently roasted, ground just before use.
  • Butter and cream processing are the other key quality issues.

See the ingredient guide for sourcing research on each item.

On playful additions

The MB Phenomenon is an evolving reality — CBD, Buckminster fullerenes, monatomic gold, methylene blue … who knows what stray cat will show up in MB: The Polvi Variant. When playfully adding something like coffee liqueur, one might instruct one’s AI valet to make up some healthy rationale for the jiggyness.
